Help & How It Works
MemoryTag is designed to make sharing and finding memories feel simple. Here are the essentials to get you started.
How to create an account
Choose Register from the menu, create a username and password, then log in to begin saving your memories.
How to add a memory
Open Add Memory, give your story a title, write or speak your memory, add helpful details, then submit it for review.
How drafts and editing work
While you create a new memory, your work is autosaved as a private draft. Continue from My Memories, or use Edit Memory later to update its story, tags, photographs and audio.
How to add photographs
Add up to eight JPG, PNG or WebP photographs. The first photograph becomes the main image and is also used on your personal timeline.
Dictation and audio recordings
Speak to write turns your words into editable story text and does not save your voice. To preserve the sound, choose Record your voice now or upload an existing MP3, M4A, WAV, WebM or OGG recording.
How to browse and search memories
Visit Explore Memories to search stories and browse by tag. Select View memory to see the full story and its details.
How to favourite memories
When you are logged in, open a published memory and choose Add to Favourites. Your saved stories appear on Favourite Memories.
How tags connect memories
Add simple, relevant tags such as a person, place, event or theme. Tags are clickable and link stories together in Explore Memories and the Memory Constellation.
Your timeline, profile and notifications
My Timeline arranges dated memories by decade. My Profile controls your public display name and photograph. Notifications tell you when a memory is approved or connected to another story through shared tags.
How sharing works
Published memories include sharing controls. You can copy a direct link or open the Facebook sharing option; always consider the privacy of anyone named or pictured first.
What pending review means
New memories wait for an administrator to review them before they appear publicly. You can still see their status in My Memories.
What to do if you forget your password
Visit Forgot Password, enter your username or email address, and follow the secure reset link WordPress sends to your email.
