Something I’ve always wanted to find out about a building in Rhyl in early to mid 80s. Russell road there is a white building near the back of the Halifax. I remember there used to be an opticians there. Now people have mentioned the main part of the building, but right behind the opticians (the right hand side of the white building) we used to go in there and play.
It was like walking in to something magical, the one room that we always used to take an interest in was on the bottom floor and had books upon books and the huge library trays (that they use for maps) and these trays used to have all birds eggs in them inside little clear compartments.
We used to go in there a lot and play, and run around the outside of the building upstairs! My mum saw us once and told us Dr Death used to live there and he ended up in Denbigh Mental. That scared us all to death so we never went back.
